What's the difference between suspension correction and glamorous line formation?

Dr Kuroda

Hello.
I am Dr. Kuroda, aka Dr. K, Deputy Director.
We have been talking about mongolian folds for a while, but this time we are going to talk about something else.

What's the difference between correcting suspensor eyes and forming glamorous lines?"
I am often asked this question during counseling.

What is glamorous line formation?

Glamorous line formation is sometimes called tareme formation, but in this column we will refer to it as glamorous line formation according to the notation on the website.

Glamorous line formation is a surgical procedure that partially lowers the arch of the lower eyelid, thereby increasing the downward eye opening. The position of the outer corner of the eye is not changed unless it is combined with an eyelid incision.

There are minor differences in the technique, such as whether or not skin excision is performed, but basically the change is made by sewing tissue called CPF into the eyelid plate.

What is suspension correction?

Hanging eye correction, on the other hand, is a surgical procedure that reduces the position of the outer corner of the eye to soften the impression of a hung eye.

The lower eyelid arch is smoothed by lowering the position of the outer corner of the eye, but it does not become convex downward as in glamorous line formation.

The change is made by detaching a portion of the ligament at the corner of the eye and reattaching it to the periosteum below the original attachment site.

A long time ago, there was a boom in glamorous eye line surgery due in part to the influence of certain celebrities. At that time, I performed many glamorous eye line procedures, but I noticed that many of my patients said, "I want to do something about my drooping eyes, but I don't want to have a pair of bulging eyes like in glamorous eye line procedures.

Then, through trial and error, we came to perform the current surgery to correct the suspensor eyes by improving the suspensor eyes without making the eyes look flared.

Nowadays, when a client consults with us for a "tale-me" eye, we explain the difference between glamorous line formation and suspension eye correction changes, and then decide on the desired technique.

Thank you again for reading this issue to the end.
