Postoperative risks and side effects

-Philadelphia infection: If there is prolonged "heat," "redness," "severe pain," or "severe swelling" in the treated area after surgery, infection is suspected.

-Slight left-right difference Slight left-right difference: If the degree of elevation differs from one side to the other, a postoperative left-right difference may occur. It is not uncommon for the original size and shape of the nipple to differ from left to right, in which case the left-right difference is likely to remain after surgery.

-Mr. scar: Although we will suture as carefully as possible, there may be cases of scar bumps, dents, or distortions due to the nature of the skin or displacement of the stitched wound.

-Necrosis of the papillae Necrosis of the papillae: When cutting the short milk ducts and fibrous tissue that cause the sinking, some of the blood vessels of the nipple are also cut. In addition, to prevent postoperative sinking, the nipple base is sutured tightly and the nipple is suspended by threads. As a result, blood flow to the nipple is reduced.
If blood circulation becomes too poor, the nipple loses its pink color and becomes whitish or dark purple. If left untreated, the skin and tissue of the nipple will become necrotic, forming a black scab that will peel off.

-Lactation Breast duct removal and its effect on lactation: The short, atrophied ducts that are the cause of the sagging are cut, but the surgery is performed to preserve some of the ducts so that breast-feeding is basically possible.
However, the procedure to tighten the base of the nipple to prevent sinking is so strong that the milk ducts may become obstructed, which may interfere with breastfeeding.
