The implantation technique is a surgery to create a double fold line by using special threads to fix the threads in several places into the skin and to adhere the threads to the eyelid plate and the skin.
Compared to the incision method, there is less risk of swelling and internal bleeding, and even when they occur, they are short. In addition, since it is only stitched together, it can be undone in the unlikely event that the result is not to your liking.

Features of this hospital

For a beautiful finish, our clinic does not use "point fixation" such as 2-point or 4-point fixation, but uses "loop fixation" in which the thread is implanted on a loop. Unlike the point fixation technique, a single thread is fixed in a looped line, making it difficult to remove, creating a firm, stable line and a beautiful double fold. At our clinic, we mainly use the eyelid plate method of implantation.

Postoperative risks and side effects

-Internal hemorrhage internal hemorrhage: The most frequent risk and complication of double eyelid implantation is postoperative internal bleeding. Although internal bleeding does not occur in everyone, it does occur in approximately 1 in 10 patients. Even if the thread is carefully threaded with a fine needle to avoid internal bleeding as much as possible, there is a certain probability that the needle will hit a blood vessel, resulting in internal bleeding.
Internal bleeding will take 1-2 weeks to disappear, but eye makeup can be applied from the third day after surgery and can be concealed with foundation or concealer.

-Postoperative Postoperative left-right difference: If there is strong internal bleeding or swelling of one eyelid after the implantation surgery, please wait until the swelling subsides, as it may cause a left-right difference. If you are concerned about the left-right difference in the width of the double fold after surgery, we will correct the difference. It may be difficult to achieve a perfectly symmetrical shape.

-Postoperative Disappearance of the double line after surgery: Compared to incisional surgery, this method causes less swelling and is a relatively easy way to create a double fold, but on the other hand, it does not create a semi-permanent double fold by creating an adhesion like incisional surgery does, so there is a possibility that the double fold line will become shallower, narrower, or There is a possibility that the double fold line may become weak, shallow, narrow, or lose its original shape. In general, the implantation threads tend to loosen when they are used on people with thick eyelids, when they are made wider, when they are used on people with weak eyelids, or when they are used on people who often rub their eyes due to atopic dermatitis, hay fever, etc. If the threads become loose and the double fold line becomes indistinct or the double fold is lost, it is possible to re-fix the threads.

-Mr. feeling of discomfort: The implantation method uses threads to hold the eyelids in place, which can cause a strong pulling sensation, but the tightness will subside with time.
If there is discomfort, such as a strong tightness, or if you wish to undo the surgery, we will remove the implantation threads.

-David Implanted threads show through.: The implantation technique usually uses thin blue or black threads, but if the eyelid skin is thin or the thread knot is not deeply embedded, the implantation threads may show through. After a number of years, the color of the thread may fade and become less noticeable.
If you wish to correct the threads showing through, we will suggest removal of the implantation threads, removal and re-installation, or an incision.
Please understand that if the implantation procedure is performed again, the threads may show through again.

-Philadelphia infection: If an infection develops around the threads of the implantation, the area may become red, swollen, and pus may appear.
In such cases, only the pus is drained or the implanted threads are removed together and re-fixed when the redness and swelling subside.
