Before surgery, a thorough consultation is conducted to first determine the "ideal double-layer".
Depending on the current condition of your eyelids, we would be happy to make suggestions to bring your eyelids as close to the ideal as possible.
Next, the eyelid opening is determined. Usually, the eyelid is adjusted to open with a little force so that the white part above the black eye does not show (i.e., not to the extent that the eye becomes trinocular).
The surgery consists of a double-lid surgical incision and an anterior elevator muscle shift (or shortening of the elevator muscle) to improve the opening of the eyelid and create a beautiful double-lid with eye power.

Postoperative risks and side effects

-Internal hemorrhage internal hemorrhage: Internal bleeding will take 1-2 weeks to disappear, but eye makeup can be applied after the stitches are removed on the seventh postoperative day and can be concealed with foundation or concealer.

-Philadelphia swelling: The swelling will subside considerably after about 1-2 weeks, but it will take about 3 months for the swelling to go down completely.

-Postoperative Postoperative retroversion: Ptosis surgery may appear slightly hypertrophic after surgery. In this case, unless the eyelid is very difficult to close, the patient will be followed for three months. If the eyelid is not fully open at that time, revision surgery can be performed.

-Postoperative Postoperative left-right difference: If you are concerned about the left-right difference in the width of the bifold after surgery, we will correct it after 3 months.
*Perfect symmetry can be very difficult to achieve depending on the condition of the face before surgery.

-Double bite Double bite: The incisional double fold line will be deeper because the scar will be firmly adhered to the incision to prevent the line from disappearing. 4-6 months later, as swelling subsides and the scar softens, the incision will become shallower.

-Redness of scars Scar redness: Scars will be slightly reddish until about 3 to 6 months. Thereafter, it will gradually settle to the color of the skin over time. Depending on the skin type, there is a slight possibility of scarring. If it is too bothersome, we will correct it.

-Philadelphia infection: Infection rarely occurs when fascia graft or Gore-Tex is used in a relatively early postoperative period (within one month) for blepharoplasty surgery. Depending on the degree of infection, if there is severe redness, swelling, or pus, the fascia or Gore-Tex may be removed once grafted. Re-implantation is possible after the infection has settled.
