Postoperative course and follow-up

Postoperative risks and side effects

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Infection (festering): If redness, pain, swelling, or heat increases or lasts longer, infection is suspected.
If infection occurs and is left untreated, the bacteria can spread throughout the body, causing a high fever and breaking the skin on the chest, which can lead to pus coming out. The patient should be treated with oral medications and antibiotics for two weeks. If there is still no improvement, the bag must be removed.

-Blood Blood pools.: If bleeding occurs in the wound after surgery, blood will pool and the chest will swell to a purple color. If the blood is left to pool, it may become infected or form a lump. If blood does pool, it should be treated as soon as possible. The wound should then be reopened and the pooled blood drained.

-David open a wound: In rare cases, the threads may detach and the wound may open.
If the wound opens, it will be sutured again.

-Not the size you want Not the desired size: For about 3 months after surgery, the breasts appear larger due to swelling. Therefore, once the swelling goes down, you may feel that they are not the desired size after the surgery.
If you feel that the size of the bag is not what you want, we will replace the bag and adjust it. However, there are some risks associated with this size increase, such as the bag's contours being raised, capsular contracture, and a higher possibility of infection. Also, please understand that depending on your body shape and condition at the time of surgery, it may be difficult to replace the bag with a larger size.

-Differences between the left and right sides of the breasts (misalignment and size difference) Left-right difference in breasts (difference in position and size): Left-right differences in breast position and size can be due to differences in the original size, shape, and position of the breasts, but it can also be due to misalignment when the bags are placed.
Once the bag is removed, wait for about 4 months, and the space where the bag was placed will be fused and return to its original state. The bag is then reinserted.

-David The outline of the bag is raised.: If you have small breasts or little subcutaneous fat, the outline of the silicone bag may appear prominent.
Also, depending on the posture, the bag may fold, causing the bag to crease and the crease lines to show.
If the contours of the bag are raised, we can add fullness around the bag with your own fat or hyaluronic acid, or replace the bag with a smaller size bag.

-Capsule contracture (capsular contracture) Capsular contracture (capsular contracture): When a foreign bag is placed, an immune response causes a membrane to form over the entire bag. When that membrane shrinks, it becomes hard and may take on an unnatural shape.
Capsular contracture is rare, but if it does occur, we will suggest removal of the bag or removal of the capsular and replacement of the bag.
Please note that when replacing the bag, an incision must be made at the lower edge of the breast (underbust) to remove the capsular membrane.
There are various causes of capsular contracture, and since constitution is one of the causes, please understand that capsular contracture may occur again even after replacement.
