Postoperative risks and side effects

-Philadelphia infection: If there is prolonged "heat," "redness," "severe pain," or "severe swelling" in the treated area after surgery, infection is suspected.

-Blood Blood pools.: After surgery, bleeding may occur in the wound and blood may pool. If blood accumulates, the wound will swell to a purple color. If left untreated, the pooled blood can promote infection and cause prolonged swelling.

-Necrosis of the skin Skin necrosis: Because the skin is pulled and the wound is stitched together, the wound is highly strained and blood circulation to the skin is reduced. As a result, the skin around the wound may become necrotic and form a black scab. Smoking, severe postoperative swelling, and large blood pools increase the risk of necrosis due to poor circulation of the pulled skin.

-David Wrinkles remain.: A facelift pulls the skin toward the incision line around the ear, so the further away from the incision, the more wrinkles may remain.
In particular, wrinkles in the nasolabial folds and marionette lines may remain because they are further away from the incision site. For nasolabial folds and marionette lines, we recommend injecting hyaluronic acid or autologous fat at the same time.

-Don't worry about it. Remains flabby.: There must be some looseness in the cheeks so that the mouth can be opened and closed. The amount of looseness will leave a flabbiness in the cheeks. In addition, the cheeks may not be lifted strongly due to high intraoperative swelling or lack of firmness of the fascia and skin.
In this case, the sagging will remain. If you want to remove the remaining sagging after the surgery, we will perform the lift surgery again.

-Facial nerve palsy facial paralysis: The facial nerve may be pulled during the surgical operation. This may result in paralysis of eyebrow movement for some time after surgery.
It usually resolves in one to six months. In very rare cases, paralysis may not be completely reversed.
Botulinum toxin can also be injected on the side opposite to the paralysis to balance the left and right sides of the body until the paralysis recovers.
