Auricular cartilage is grafted along with skin to the nostril margin to create a gently arched nostril shape.
This is a surgical procedure to lower the line of the nostril rim that is raised upward.

Those who want to make their nostrils less visible.
Those who are concerned about the left-right difference in nostrils.

Features of this hospital

The line of the nostril margin rises upward and the nostrils become prominent due to the lack of skin on the cutaneous and mucous membrane side of the nostril margin.
Therefore, cartilage and skin can be harvested from the ear in one lump and transplanted to the nostril margin to move the line of the nostril margin downward.

At our clinic, we use 3D simulation software "vectra" before the surgery to show you a 3D image of the postoperative result, so you can visualize the postoperative result to some extent before the surgery.

Postoperative course and follow-up

Postoperative risks and side effects

-Philadelphia infection: If there is prolonged "heat," "redness," "severe pain," or "severe swelling" in the treated area after surgery, infection is suspected. If infection is suspected, it may be necessary to remove the cartilage once.

-David Foundations open: In rare cases, the threads may come off or the wound may not heal properly.
If the wound has opened, we will sew the wound back together again.

-And the contour of the grafted cartilage is revealed. The contour of the transplanted cartilage is raised.: The cartilage graft may cause the outline of the cartilage to appear in the cutaneous area of the nostril rim. Since the cartilage is your own tissue, there is no concern that it will break through the skin and pop out.
If you wish to correct the cartilage that has emerged, we can remove a portion or all of the grafted cartilage.

-Don't you see? The grafted skin is raised.: The skin grafted to the nasal cavity side may temporarily become thickened. In most cases, this will settle down and flatten out within a month or two after surgery, but if this does not occur, we may consider steroid injections.

-Not enough effect/not what I imagined Insufficient effect, different from the image: Depending on the morphology of the original nostril rim, the effect of one surgery may be insufficient or different from the image.
If you wish to lower the nostril rim more after the descent surgery, we will wait at least 3 months to allow the skin to soften sufficiently before adding a cartilage graft.
In this case, a new cartilage harvest will be required. Also, please understand that there is a limit to the extent of reduction.
